Apple’s place among the giants.
As Apple’s market cap approaches $500 billion, they become only the 11th company to achieve the feat of most valuable company. Business is still booming, but how long can it be sustained at this scale?
The NYT has a nice graphic that looks at the market caps of various companies when they become the world’s largest. Apple became the largest when its market cap reached $338.9 billion last year, and has since risen to $487.1 billion.
In case we had forgotten, this graphic also reminds us of the massive market caps of Microsoft and Cisco prior to the millennium tech bubble.
