46.5 millions rely on foodstamps.

There has been lots of talk that the economy is now improving in many categories. This is good news for the democrats, bad news for the republicans, and potentially good news for the poor. But whatever improvements have been made, many still have not seen them.

Americans on foodstamps reached an all-time high of 46.5 million people in December, nearly doubling from just a few years ago. Using data from SNAP, ZeroHedge compiled a couple charts of the current situation. Even if we began reducing poverty today we can see that there is a long road ahead.

Also of note is that the benefits per household has been on the decline.
