The Weekly Standard reports that today the Republican side of the Senate Budget Committee plans to release this chart comparing U.S. debt to that of the Eurozone and the U.K. In all fairness, the U.S. is a much different country with a much larger GDP than any of these European nations, but this chart still provides some good scale. $15.1 trillion worth of debt will be hard to wash away no matter how optimistic our GDP growth is. Charts like this should serve as a wake up call, but they likely won’t.
