Thanks to Mike Daisy apparently being a jackass, what we once thought was a terrible, horrific Foxconn was found to be merely a slightly bad Foxconn. This issue has been a hot topic in the media despite the fact that no one cares enough to stop buying iPads.
In this video by Marketplace Shanghai Bureau Chief Rob Schmitz, we get a rare look inside the factory and find that quite a different picture than has been painted. At only $14 a day for labor, the job may not be glorious, but Schmitz points out that Foxconn is actually a highly preferred factory in China and treats its employees better than many other employers, providing them with leisure benefits like soccer fields.
