Closed Classroom 435x326 Recent U.S. Economic Growth In Charts May 2012

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has released its economic presentation for May.

In it, we can see that state and local government employment has been tanking since late 2008. Some of the least educated areas have had to layoff teachers, and some of the highest crime regions have had no choice but to reduce the size of the police force. Additionally, federal civilian employment is at a remarkably low 1.8%.
