Greetings good folks!

What follows is a post I’ve been meaning to do for a while, and I was especially encouraged to do after the ridiculous success of my satirical post “Blogosphere, We Get It…“. I feel that I left out a lot of great blogs, and wanted to put together a more comprehensive list.

A while back, before he was uber famous and when he didn’t get more TV time than George Stephanopoulos, Josh Brown put up a fantastic post outlining some of the major (and less major) players in the financial blogosphere that you might want to be following. I benefited considerably at the time, as my journey into the blogosphere was still young (and still is).

But the blogosphere has changed greatly since that post. Some have vanished, and many, many good ones have joined.

This list is by no means complete, and I’m sure I have forgotten many good ones, so please let me know in the comments (or email me) if you think something needs to be included. In fact, I know I have forgotten many good ones, so I will likely be making considerable additions to this over the next week.

Unlike Josh’s post where he ranked blogs by their merit, I’m going to rank them randomly. It may be more difficult to parse, but because readers have such broad interests and can gather so many different types of information out of any one site, I decided I didn’t want to tell people which ones are the best as their opinions and goals may differ from mine.

I have included several think tanks in the list, accepting the risk that someone bitch about the content and claim that the entire list is biased. I suppose it’s strange to group them with bloggers, but many of these sites now operate essentially as blogs, and it would be silly to ignore them when they can sometimes provide very helpful information.

All traders, or blogs primarily focused on trading activities, have been grouped into a single category. This is to make things difficult. But also, to allow me to emphasize that all investing activities are interrelated. Don’t box yourself into a narrow belief system.

This list isn’t exclusively financial blogs, but more of a financially-focused person’s information feed. Some broader politics and technology blogs are included. I encourage anyone interested in the particular topics to check out all blogs listed, and show some love to the guys down in “Other”. They are down there because I wasn’t quite sure where they belonged, not because they are a lesser quality of blog. Let me know if you think a blog would be more accurately represented in a different category.

Without further ado, the financial blogosphere.
