This seems entirely unnecessary. I really don’t want to start a debate on gay marriage or the social ethics of these things, but what a joke this is.

Because there aren’t enough world problems to be dealing with, Obama has found some time to sign a proclamation declaring June 2012 as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. Not only is this proclamation a spectacular waste of time, for any gay rights purposes it is completely useless.

This doesn’t address any actual issues and is merely a sideshow to draw the gay vote. I don’t know how much having a pride month in general has helped anyone, but I’m not seeing any benefit that will come from this.

Get to work, Mr. President.
