The ISM reports that the Chicago PMI rose to 53.7 in July, well above the 52.9 figure in June and economist’s expectations of 52.5.
We are still considerably below the peak expansion of 71.2 experienced in February of 2011, but continued expansion is a good sign nonetheless, even if it is slow.
