The Conference Board reports that consumer confidence in July improved to 65.9, up from 62.7 in June.
The present situation index dropped a few tenths to 46.2, down from 46.6 in June, but the expectations index shot up to 79.1 from last month’s 73.4. This figure from the expectations index is a very positive reading to see following last month’s plummet.
Still a very long way to go, but consumer confidence in July was overall very optimistic, relatively.
