Obama has taken a lot of heat for his now famous “You didn’t build that” lecture, and the Republicans may just be getting started: A core segment of the Republican National Convention this week is “We built it.”

I don’t like to get too caught up in the political jabs over insignificant phrases, but this new pro-Obama ad is pretty clever. The Democratic National Committee is taking the words republicans have been poking fun at and reversing them back onto Romney’s private equity experience at Bain.

“You didn’t build that. You destroyed it.”

For the record, I don’t believe that Romney’s time at Bain should be seen as the negative, job-killing tour that the liberal media has made it out to be. Cuts had to be made and he made them.
