A recent TED talk by Andrew McAfee tackles the question of whether the technological progression in which computers take jobs previously held by humans is a good or a bad thing.
McAfee argues that the incorporation of robots into our society is a very positive event, and will yield the most benefit to the less developed world.
Overall this is a good talk, although McAfee’s use of the employment-population ratio is a poor example. He could have selected any of several measures that would more accurately describe his point.
