Riots have broken out in Madrid, Spain where thousands have gathered in a march they are calling “Occupy Congress.”
The protests follow deeply unpopular austerity measures announced by conservative Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, who is aiming to cut the budget by 60 million euros (£47m). Rajoy intends to restrict early retirement tax breaks, tax stock transactions and carbon dioxide emissions, and freeze pensions benefits, among other things.
