The Census Bureau reports that factory orders in August decreased $24.9 billion, a 5.2% reduction bringing total orders to $452.8 billion. This followed a 2.6% July increase, and is the largest monthly loss since January of 2009.

Factory orders are now up 3.7% year over year, well under the 4.7% they were up Y/Y in July.
