The TSA once again has been exposed for what it is, a waste of government resources. After an iPad was left behind at a security checkpoint at the airport in Orlando, Florida, TSA officer Andy Ramirez decided to claim ownership of it. If it’s that easy, why not.
As part of an ABC news investigation, ten iPads were left at airports with a history of theft by government screeners. So, unfortunately for Ramirez, this iPad had a tracking device in it, and led them straight to his house.
According to the TSA, between 2003 and 2012, 381 officers have been fired for theft. Just imagine what the number would be had everyone been caught.
