S&P reports that the Case-Shiller house price index rose 0.9% in August for both the 10- and 20-city composite indexes. The composite-10 is now at 158.62 and the composite-20 is 145.87.
This is a pretty strong report, with 19 out of 20 cities posting positive monthly gains. Seattle was the only exception, where prices declined 0.1% during August.
