The Census Bureau reports that in September new orders for manufactured goods increased 4.8%, the largest increase since March of 2011. Factory orders are now up 3.3% year over year.
This strong report follows a 5.1% decrease in August. Excluding transportation, new orders increased by only 1.4%.
