The Department of Labor reports that initial jobless claims fell last week to 343k, a 29k drop from the previous week’s revised figure of 372k. This marks the 4th consecutive week of falling jobless claims, all of which have been fairly substantial.
The insured unemployment rate last week was 2.5%, unchanged from the week prior.
The number of Americans receiving unemployment insurance last week was 3.198m, a 23k reduction from the prior week’s revised figure of 3.221m.
