Philly Fed Manufacturing Moves Back Into Expansion At 2.0

The Philly Fed reports that the general business activity diffusion index of its Philly Fed manufacturing survey increased to a reading of +2.0 in March. This is up from February’s contractionary reading of -12.5, and brings the index back into positive territory indicating economic growth in the manufacturing sector, albeit at a very slow pace.

Of the survey respondents, 25.4% indicated that business conditions had improved during the month, while 23.4% of respondents indicated that conditions had worsened.
