The U.S. Department of Labor reports that initial jobless claims for the week ending April 13 were a seasonally adjusted 352k. This is a modest increase from last week’s revised reading of 348k. Jobless claims non-seasonally adjusted last week were 355k.
The insured unemployment rate was unchanged at a seasonally adjusted 2.4%.
The total number of Americans receiving unemployment insurance benefits was a seasonally adjusted 3.068 million, a decrease from last week’s revised reading of 3.103 million.
