The U.S. Department of Labor reports that initial jobless claims for the week ending June 15 were a seasonally adjusted 354k. This is an increase from the prior week’s revised reading of 336k. Jobless claims not seasonally adjusted for the week were 335k.
The insured unemployment rate was a seasonally adjusted 2.3%, unchanged from the prior week’s unrevised reading.
The number of unemployment insurance recipients was a seasonally adjusted 2.951 million, an increase from the prior week’s revised reading of 2.991 million.
