The New Residential Construction report just released by the U.S. Census Bureau is covering the months of September, October, and November. This long delay was due to the federal government shutdown.
Housing starts were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 873k in September, 889k in October, and 1.091 million in November. The rate in November is a 29.6% increase from the same period a year ago.
Single-family housing starts were at a SAAR of 727k in November.
